Food security & Livelihoods

Food security is crucial for a healthy society. However, it is a major concern particularly for vulnerable population such as rural communities and low-income families and those who are affected by various disasters. Due to high production cost, it is extremely difficult for vulnerable families to have access to healthy foods considering the affordability. On the other hand, Poverty and economic inequality are significant barriers to food security. Many low-income generating families struggle to afford nutritious food, leading to malnutrition and other health issues. To address these basic needs, Islamic Relief provides dry food packs and Ramadan packs through m-FiSHA project to the total of 7964 families. It also provides monetary support to 1400 vulnerable families from different region of the island. In addition, 610 children benefit from mid-day mean support initiative.

Through these interventions, Islamic Relief supports vulnerable families to fulfill their basic food requirements. This intervention is being implemented successfully with respective officials from Divisional Secretariat and respective Zonal and Provincial Directors of Education.

Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
