Islamic Relief – Sri Lanka implemented a water purification plant through the ACWaSS project which Islamic Relief USA funded and the purification plant was constructed in at the Kanagarayankulam South GN division of Vavuniya North.

This project was successfully completed and handed over to the community with the close monitoring of the community water supply. Presently families from Kanagarayankulam and the suburbs are getting drinking water from the  center. 

As this project nearing its end, a lesson-learned and review workshop was conducted by our MEAL unit on 15^th March 2023. The workshop brought together various stakeholders, including community members, project management staff and local authorities to assess the performance of the water purification plant and identify the lessons learned from the implementation process.
